First, of course, is cudos for an absolutely stunning product. It does what it's supposed to, and elegently, and you can't ask for more than that. This most recent version is a real gem!

I do, however, have one very minor suggestion. I've used other scan-to-PDF products in the past, and found one very useful feature that you might consider adopting. When scanning two-sided documents, it's common to scan the first side, then simply flip the pile of documents over to scan the second side. Doing that in NAPS results in the second pages being in reverse order, and when interleaved, the order of the back-side of the pages remains in reverse order. If you simply provided an option for reversing the order of the group of second pages, or perhaps, better still, simply accept that they are coming in in reverse order, then rearrange them to be in the correct order, the interleave function would be perfect.

It goes way above and beyond, but an alternative might be to provide a button that says something like "scan 2-sided documents," recognize when the scanner sheet-feeder has finished the first side of the multiple documents (as you already do), advise the user to "simply flip the stack over and press continue," scan the second sides of the stack coming from the sheet-feeder, automatically reverse their order, then automatically interleave them, you will have achieved bliss!

Just a suggestion as the product is already excellent, and way beyond expectation...

Thanks for the suggestions. For the first one, I will add a a new option in the next version of NAPS2, something like "Alternate Interleave" that will do as you say. I'll keep the current option as-is, because which one you need for this task actually depends on the orientation of your feeder.

Your second suggestion is interesting, but I probably won't end up adding that for the reason above - the type of interleave you need depends on your scanner and it's not something I can detect automatically.

The latest version of NAPS2 (4.3.0) now has an Alternative Interleave option.

The alternative interleave option is a god-send! I just bought a scanner, knowing it did not support hardware duplex, but thinking that at least the scanner driver would support manual duplexing (i.e. prompt to flip the stack over and continue to scan the rear side). Sadly I thought wrong, but at least the alternative interleave option gives me a solution.

Now... if only I could use a script or command line batch file to automate the "alternative interleave" step I'd be in heaven.

Wish lists aside, great program and streets ahead of the junk that shipped with my Fuji-Xerox scanner. Well done and thanks for your efforts.

I'm glad it has helped you. I've added a few new options to NAPS2.Console in 4.6.0 including "--altinterleave" which should do want you want.
