New Windows 10 machine, Brother scanner, NAPS2 6.1.2 installed. Program works fine, but after it scans one document (single or multi-page) it will no longer scan. Have to close & re-open the program each time to do another scan
Have tried older version (6.1), restart, reinstall. Another scanning program (Brother) works OK each time

Try the more recent 7.0 Beta 8

And also you might want to try to switch from VIA to Twain driver (or vice versa)
