Recently found NAPS2 as an alternative for Sane if the scanner isn't supported. It is a great program, but I think it could even be better.

  • When using Batch Scan, it should ignore the file name you might have filled in in the profile. Now it asks to overwrite the existing file for each scan. It is confusing not relevant, because the Batch Scan has its own file name pattern.
  • Scanned files only become visible after the batch is finished, so there is no way to see if your scanned results are ok, before youre finished. I scan to singlefile scan TIFFS, so it should be possible.
  • The default button on the Batch Scan window is Cancel, and it will cancel the batch and remove all intermediate scans, no confirmation asked. Very annoying if you accidentially press Enter before the Next Scan pop-up appears halfway a larg batch.
  • There is no way to restart a Batch Scan at a number other than 1.

This is NAPS2 version 5.3.3.20820 and runs here on Windows 10.

But, as I said, NAPS2 is a good program as it is!
