First, thank you so much for this program. It's exactly what is needed as an alternative to the fairly useless Windows Fax and Scan and the ultrabloated and barely functional vendor sofware that comes with the scanner.
I'm trying to scan a long (50+ pages) two sided document. My printer/scanner is Brother 7860DW and NAPS2 seems to work perfectly for one sided ADF and manual glass scans. I can't figure out a simple way to do two sided though. If I select "duplex" in the profile setup, I get an error - presumably because the scanner does not support this. It supports automatic duplex printing, but that is a separate document feeder from the scanner.
So, I was hoping to simply put the stack of documents in the feeder, scan one side, flip them over and scan the other, and then sort them into the correct order on the thumbnail page. However, unless I'm missing something, there is no way to do this other than, for example in a 50 page two sided document, moving the 51st thumbnail ("page 2") over to between the 1st and 2nd thumbnails ("pages 1 and 3").
Is there a setting for manual two sided ADF, so that the software understands that the first scan will be all the odd pages and the second scan will be all the even pages? Or maybe on command line or with a script? Or am I better off trying to do this with PDF software? (If so, can anyone recommend a PDF reader that will resort pages like this?)
Thanks again.

I was actually just about to send a message to the author about this exact topic. I'm looking for the same functionality but have been unable to find it.
I may have some free time for a project in the next few months and I was wondering if this feature would be something that Ben would be willing to pull into the code base if it was implemented in a pull request. If not (or if there isn't any more planned updates) then I suppose we could fork this project, or just do a down-and-dirty local implementation, but I'd much rather see the relatively minor update pulled into an existing and established project.
Ben, thoughts?
Thanks,
Matt

Hello Ben and Matt,
Thanks for the good work put into this software. It works really nice.
I too, would like to see support for post-scan rearrangement of a 2-sided stack of pages.
Is there already a solution for this?

Hi Matt,
I've been busy with other things and unable to put much time into NAPS2, but I would be happy to integrate pull requests.
Ben

Sorry for the late response, but this is a feature that has been added in 3.0beta1 which you can find under the Files page on this website.
