Hi all,
I needed an scanner software and found NAPS2 which it is an awesome software for scanning an also compatible with different OS (win, mac, linux)
I have been testing for a periodo now and the features are just great! Thank you to the developers!
The only downside is I cant scan on resolutions over 300pp
Every time I set profiles with higher resolution it returns an errro an stop the scanning.
I tried on W10 and Mac with no success.
I searched the software documentation without help.
A few things you could try:
- Reinstall/update the scanner drivers
- In your advanced profile settings, try different options for "Twain Implementation"
- In your profile settings, try "Use native UI" (but in this case your settings won't be saved in NAPS2)
Generally this looks like it's some kind of limitation with the HP driver.

Hi,
I just tried everything you suggested again (already had done it before post this message) and it doesnt work.
It´s really weird that doesnt work.
If there is anything I can do to try to fix this error I am glad to help or do some tests if needed, because the software is sooo good, and I would like to use it instead the HP scan software...
Thank you for your help
Regards

Hi,
similar problem here on W11 with a Canoscan Lide 110, which has a (physical/optical) resolution of 2.400 x 2.400 dpi and up to 48 bit color depth.
It seems that the driver is integrated into W11, at least this is what Canon says on the support site, and there are no drivers to be downloaded.
Accordingly, NAPS only works with the WIA driver. While resolution selection is limited to 24bit, in the resolution dropdown I can select up to 4.800 dpi. However, any resolution > 600 dpi will result in exactly the same image.
There is an old Canon TWAIN driver fpr the Lide 110, but it's only certificated up to W10. I'll try it this evening, but I doubt that it will work.
Thanks für help & best regards
Martin

At this forum I only found this thread https://sourceforge.net/p/naps2/discussion/general/thread/4a86c4e1/ althought there isnt a fix.
Does anyone know how to scan documents on higher resolutions?
The official app (HP MFP scan) can scan files with 600ppp
FYI, I am using a HP laserjet MFP178nw printer/scanner
Thank you for your help
Are you using TWAIN or WIA as a driver? Have you tried switching between them? What error messages do you get with each driver?
Hello,
I am using TWAIN driver. If I try to set the WIA it shows an error message the scanner isn´t available or active (see screenshot)
Twain driver recognise the scanner perfectly and scans correctly apart from the resolution capped at 300ppp
FYI, scanner is accessed over WIFI on my LAN
Thank you
Also here it is debuglog when attempting to scan with 600ppp
Thank you
What error do you get with the TWAIN driver? Also, are you scanning with the flatbed or the feeder?
Here you have a screenshot with profile settings. As you can see is flatbed scanning.
And here it is the error it shows when attempting to scan
This happens in W10 and MacOs
apart from this everything works fabolous
The printer/scanner is a HP Color Laser MFP178nw
Thank you
