Hi Forum!
Last week I had problems scanning with my out-dated NAPS2 6.1 (Portable). The profiles were gone.
And every dialog that I opened made NAPS2 stuck in this dialog and only killing it via Task Manager helped.
First step: Update to 7.1 (portable to new directory) - but now NAPS2 does not start at all.
Second step: Complete installation with .exe and .msi. Does not start.
I haven't found any discussions about that topic. I hope I get some help here.
TIA!
Bye
Sebastian

What version of Windows are you using? If it's XP the new version doesn't support it anymore. Otherwise, check the Data folder for an errorlog.txt file, or if that isn't there, you could try checking the Windows Event Viewer and see if there are any errors.

I am using Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.3448)
The data folder is empty except one directory recovery
The same with the "installed" version. No errorlogfile.
The Event Viewer does not run properly. It says "The plugin could not be created. Probably it is not installed properly." (Translated from german OS version)
Is there a "debug switch" I can activate in the settings file?
The only thing that changed on my system is the installation of the standard windows updates.
TIA!

If the Event Viewer won't open it's definitely an issue with your Windows installation. You might need to fully reinstall Windows or at least try some repair.

Solved! I reinstalled a complete fresh Windows 10 and everything works again! (NAPS2 was not the only program affected.)
