Saving multiple scans without overwriting them

The rundown here is I am scanning a lot of piles of pages, and I created two profiles: One for one-sided, and one for two-sided. Each patient chart is divided into two piles, one for each profile. The way our system is set up, when the files go into the folder, that folder is linked with the inbox folder for our system, which then has to upload the files and then we can pull it into our inbox in the client. The issue is that when the files are scanned in, some of them are bigger and don't immediately upload into the system, so they sit in that folder for quite a while. When they are pulled into the inbox in our EHR, they are supposed to be erased from the folder (So we don't end up with a bunch of copies). What is happening is, I scan a pile of double sided, and then I try to scan another and it asks me if I want to overwrite it, if I don't wait long enough between scans. I just want to be able to go, go go with this and not wait between scans, so how can I get the files I am scanning to autosave to that folder without overwriting each other?

You should be able to use a placeholder for this. For example, in your auto save settings, naming the files "scan$(n).pdf" will ensure each file has a unique name ("scan1.pdf", "scan2.pdf", etc.).

I tried this, but there is a huge problem. Even though the profile I am using is set to put all the pages I scan into one file, it is saving each page of a two sided document as a separate file. I have no idea why. I put the $(n).tiff extension on the file name for the profile, like you suggested. But it seems to be interferring with everything.

Please attach your "profiles.xml" file here. You can find it in the "%APPDATA%\NAPS2" folder. For example, if your Windows username is Chris, it would be in "C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Roaming\NAPS2".

Also, are you scanning through the main Scan button or Batch Scan? If you're using Batch Scan, please attach the "config.xml" file from the same folder.

I use the main scan, because I have to switch between profiles for one sided and two sided frequently and there isn't an option to just have it rotate back and forth. I think I attached this right.

It looks like the "$(n)" was put in the wrong spot. You'll need to edit it from "ptonesided.tiff$(n)" to "ptonesided$(n).tiff", for example.
