#6 Ceiling on numbers of nodes in the tree?

When I try to display ~1000 nodes the browser just goes
bonkers. It just hangs and after five or so minutes it
comes back with a message "a script is causing your
browser to run slow, do you want to abort it?" only
when I abort it it displays the tree.
