Welcome to the NanoStack 6lowpan project discussion forum.

NanoStack has been an open-source project already since 2006, maintained and released by Sensinode. Now the NanoStack core has been released to the open-source community (thanks SourceForge!). 6lowpan is an exciting standard allowing IPv6/UDP etc. use over the low-power IEEE 802.15.4 radio standard on very minimal embedded hardware. NanoStack is the world's first open-source 6lowpan implementation. The project will also actively support new standardization efforts such as ISA100.

Professional Sensinode developers continue to maintain the core stack releases, bug fixes and features into the main releases. The development community is encouraged to contribute patches to the core, new protocol modules, examples, libraries, PC tools etc. to the contributions area. The greater community's testing, comments, ideas and experience are essential for continuing the development of 6lowpan.

The project will be kept very simple:

- This single discussion forum for public help, ideas, questions about 6lowpan etc.
- A single mailing list for active developers regarding development issues, testing candidate releases etc.
- Documentation through Oxygen generated from the code, and through the SourceForge Wiki.
- Download packages will be made at 0.1 resolution.
