NagVis Featuritis is available now

Today we have another type of announcement for you. In the last days we invested some work to enhance the way feature request and ideas concerning NagVis are handled. The enhancement omes basically as extension of this website. It is called Featuritis (http://www.nagvis.org/featuritis).

Using Featuritis you can post your ideas and feature request. After publishing your idea all users and developers can discuss about your idea, vote the idea up to bring more attention to the feature. We as developers have the chance to get more and better feedback.... read more

NagVis 1.6 stable released

We are proud to announce the new stable release of NagVis: NagVis 1.6. The new release improves the usability and performance of Nag
Vis. It introduces a lot of interesting features compared to the last stable release 1.5.10.

The most important changes are:

The WUI has been removed and merged into the regular frontend. You can now lock/unlock specific or all map objects to edit them. The

NagVis 1.6rc4 released

Today we release the fourth release candidate of NagVis 1.6. We made some unplanned improvements in this release. For example the editing controls have been removed. The object is editing mode can now be edited using the context menu. We fixed some minor problems which should affect only some installations. Please keep up testing this release and help us finding problems.

NagVis 1.6rc3 released

NagVis 1.6rc2 released

The second release candidate on the way to a stable NagVis 1.6 release has been published. This release contains mainly bugfixes for the fresh recoded add/modify dialog but also some other fixes affecting the core and the frontend.

One bigger change is the new NagiosBP backend which has been implemented to display up-to-date information about business processes configurd in NagiosBP. This backend connects directly to NagiosBP instances using the JSON API. For details about this backend take a look at the current NagVis documentation. NagVis 1.6rc1 released

Today we release the first release candidate of NagVis 1.6. We received much less bug reports in the last weeks so it seems the code base is becoming more stable now. Thus we decided to publish this release as release candidate.

Since the last beta we changed some important parts in the map editing parts of the frontend, especially in the object add/modify dialog has completely been recoded. This task was on the list for a long time and has finally been finished in this version. We cleaned up a lot of old code in the core parts and the frontend.... read more

NagVis 1.5.10 and 1.6b3 released

Today we publish two releases. The first one is a new maintenance release 1.5.10 which includes some minor fixes in the core and frontend code for the current stable version.

The second release is the next beta for the upcoming stable 1.6. The 1.6b3 release does not include any major changes. We focused on some code and GUI cleanups and bugfixes.

NagVis 1.6b2 released

Some time has passed since the first beta release of NagVis 1.6. We got a lot of feedback for the new features and the changes we added in 1.6b1. Thanks for that! And please keep it up!

NagVis 1.6b1 released

Today we release the first pre-release on the way to a stable NagVis 1.6 version. We almost finished the planned features to be released with NagVis 1.6 so the focus for the next releases is on fixing bugs and improving the usability.

Each map object needs to have a map unique object_id now. The object_ids are automatically generated when no one is configured for a map object whil loading the map configuration. The map config files are altered autimatically.... read more

NagVis 1.5.9 released

NagVis 1.5.9 is the new minor fix release for NagVis 1.5 which includes a bunch of small fixes.

This is again a preparation for the upcoming OMD release. If you don't know OMD (http://omdistro.org/) yet, take a look at it!

NagVis 1.5.8 released

NagVis 1.5.8 is the next minor fix release for NagVis 1.5 which includes a bunch of small fixes all over NagVis and some minor improvements.

Since the omd release delayed a couple of days we decided to release this fix release before the release to include the newest fixes in the OMD 0.46 release to have it as stable as possible.

NagVis 1.5.4 released

NagVis 1.5.4 is a maintenance release which includes some major bugfixes. Most of the changes have been done in the HTML/JS frontend of NagVis. We also fixed several things in the WUI and the core of NagVis.

NagVis 1.5.3 released

Wow this was a quick step from 1.5.2 to 1.5.3. We decided to release this quick fix release for NagVis 1.5 because there were some annoying errors in the NagVis 1.5.2 release which did not affect all users.

Those errors where mainly located in the JavaScript code of the regular frontend. The error handling in the graphviz processing code for the automap has also been improved.

We also cleaned up some deprecated code in the WUI and migrated it to the current module structure.... read more

NagVis 1.5 stable released

We are proud to announce the new stable release 1.5 of NagVis. The new release is a big step to make NagVis faster and easier to use.

There are many changes compared to the last stable release 1.4.7. The most important of them are:

The MKLivestatus backend is the default backend now. You don't need a relational database like MySQL and the NDO anymore. This gives NagVis a big performance gain and makes the Nagios+NagVis easier to use and maintain. You simply need to extend your Nagios installation with the MKLivestatus NEB module.... read more
