Regarding the dynamic definition you're quite right.
Since we are pretty busy developing NETWAYSGrapherV2, the much more 
powerful (and colorful :) ) successor of NagiosGrapher, I'm very sure 
that features like the mentioned won't be implemented before summer 2009

Maybe you can write some patches and mail us back ;-)
