Hello, I'm trying to configure myWebDNS for a computer at work. The installation goes well, but there are some issues when I try to connect. My configuration is the following: Apache 2.x w/ mod_auth_mysql for Apache 2.x MySQL 4.x PHP 4.x myWebDNS installed in /opt/mywebdns The section in my httpd.conf looks like this: <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AuthName "myWebDNS" AuthType Basic require valid-user AuthMySQLDB mywebdns AuthMySQLPwEncryption scrambled AuthMySQLUserTable mysql_auth AuthMySQLGroupTable mysql_auth AuthMySQLNameField username AuthMySQLPasswordField password AuthMySQLGroupField groups </Directory> I can follow the symlink in my document root to the /opt/mywebdns/web directory, but i can't authorize against the database with my admin account. Is there something I'm overlooking? I've managed to get regular directory authentication to work, but now with this. Thanks. |

I made a debian (woody) installation with following packets: mysql-server bind9 apache-ssl libapache-mod-auth-mysql (release 3.2!) php4 /unstable php4-cgi /unstable libmysqlclient10-dev libc6-dev /unstable Next I've set a symbolic link: ln -s /usr/bin/php4 /usr/bin/php and make configure with these options: ./configure --prefix=/usr/mywebdns -hostserver=localhost --with-mysql=/usr - -with-php=/usr --rootpwd=xxxxx --adminpwd=yyyyy --mailcheck=ad...@do...d and now: ./install without any errors and warnings. I have configured the apache as described in the INSTALL file and set a Alias to the web directory of mywebdns. But im not able to login! And I can't see any errors in the logfiles like mysql.log, syslog and so on. What is the reason why? Is it the release 3.2 of the mod-auth-mysql? How I have to set an Admin/Password user in the db? regards, Andreas |

hello, i am trying to locate a utility that will allow multiple users (preferably based on the unix /etc/passwd file) to login and manage their own DNS settings....was wondering is mywebdns comes under this category, or if it is strictly for 1-3 "admin" users only, etc. Basically, I want users to control the information for their domain(s) when they want to VIA a webbased interface. Any information would be appreciated....thanks in advance. -- Joshua Steele |

managed to get mysql access the host, but new problem accured: after installing and making the needed changes to httpd.conf it still give me this error: Authorization Required This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required. eventhough nothing in error.log of apache that shows something.. my httpd.conf configuration as follows: <VirtualHost xx.xx.xx.xx> DocumentRoot /usr/local/mywebdns/ ServerName mywebdns.mylocalan.xxx ErrorLog /usr/local/mywebdns/logs/error.log CustomLog /usr/local/mywebdns/logs/access.log combined Auth_MySQL_Info localhost admin NONE <Directory /usr/local/mywebdns> Options FollowSymLinks Auth_MySQL_DB mywebdns AuthName "myWebDNS" AuthType Basic require valid-user Auth_MySQL_Encryption_Types MySQL Auth_MySQL_Password_Table mysql_auth Auth_MySQL_Group_Table mysql_auth Auth_MySQL_Username_Field username Auth_MySQL_Password_Field password Auth_MySQL_Group_Field groups </Directory> </VirtualHost> and still admin/NONE doesn't allow me to login, any ideas what might be casuing this? from command prompt it shows this: (/usr/local/apache/bin) mysql -hlocalhost -uadmin -pNONE Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 1919 to server version: 3.23.54 Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> which means admin/NONE works fine from localhost? From MySQL documentation: "For mysqld to be able to use UDF functions, you should configure MySQL with --with-mysqld-ldflags=-rdynamic The reason is that to on many platforms (including Linux) you can load a dynamic library (with dlopen()) from a static linked program, which you would get if you are using --with-mysqld-ldflags=-all-static If you want to use an UDF that needs to access symbols from mysqld, you must link the program with -rdynamic (see man dlopen)." |
