The main goal of this project is to create music visualizations that 'correlate' with the music. My point of reference is not so much the spectacular 3D renderings like those by SoundSpectrum or, for those who remember the great Winamp plugins, by the likes of Ryan Geiss and Gordon Williams. Rather my reference is the very cool After Effect project by Liquos (you can see his Mute Math - Reset visualization on youtube). Clearly Liquos is an after effect wizard and the great visuals are generated by computer but the real art is to match the effects to the music; something quite challenging for algorithms to pull off.... read more
