Regardless of whether a new item belongs in the list for the current query, it shows up there as soon as it is added. You have to leave the current report and come back to get the counter and the list correct. In general, I find the queries a little screwy - there's no counts on them except the default one when the client shows up, add an item is always defaulting to add a requirement (why not have it be a choice).

New items are appended to the actual query results. I could rerun the query after each change. The problem is it could happens that you never find your last issue. Regarding issutype for the issues you can script the new issue creation as I wrote in the detailed tutorial chapter 8. What is an event? and look at events.html in your doc directory.

I would suggest checking to see if the item belongs in the current query set, and if not, tell the user that the item will not be visible and ask them if they still want to save it. I would also give them the option of not being asked this question anymore. The query and the entry are not necessarily linked. I clicked on add an item, not on the query. If I right-clicked on a query, it would make some sense to think it should be available in that query, but that option doesn't exist. You're making an assumption about what the user thinks, when it's actually you who made the connection between query and link.

In any case, making a deliberate error based on an assumption shouldn't happen.

I also noticed that when I edit a query, it resets the query to 0 and doesn't display anything. It should rerun the query.

Thanks for the information on the issue creation.

I can't figure out how to make a field visible in the form, but I can delete one. Maybe I'm doing things in the wrong order. It's odd that I can add a field, but not see it. Maybe if you realize this is going to happen at form design time, you could warn the designer?
