Many users have slave backends in their mythtv
configuration. Current releases of mythburn don't seem
to have support for this type of setup. Only local
recordings or locally accessible recordings (via nfs)
are accessible by the mythburn script. There is no
check up front to see if the recording is local. If
the recording is not local then mythburn script fails
as it cannot access the recording.
I've incorporated a work-around hack to fix this so
that an exported recording directory can be mounted
and accessed by mythburn. However, this is probably
not the most efficient way of doing this. Would it be
possible to add support in for remote backends in a
future release? Maybe via ftp, or sftp or through
some mythtv specific transfer method? So that remote
recordings can be accessed from a single backend.
I'm not sure if someone else has requested this, or
something like this is already in progress, but I
think it would be an appreciated feature.thanks
