Not sure about the meaning of some of the stuff below the menu drop-downs -

"Create new search by setting one or more fields." Does this refer to the Search and Channel boxes?

"Use 2 single quotes for single quote in program search field." ???

Thanks!

    > "Create new search by setting one or more fields." Does this refer to the
    Search and Channel boxes?

Yes, refers to search: text field, ch: channel text search field, and First Occurance or Title/Subtitle Only checkboxes. At least one of "search:", "ch:" or Category dropdown must be specified to run a search.

So, searches can be very general, examples:

    1) Dropdown cat = Movie, no search text & First Occurance checked will return all unique showings of movies. For me, if I also set ch: hd, I get all first occurances of HD movies since all my HTDV channels have "HD" in their 4-letter id.

    2) Using OR symbol you may specify multiple matches (title/subtitle only checked): Hotel Rwanda|Capote|Deep Impact|Crash, but at this time its a substring-only match, so in that example ANY movie w/Crash in title will appear. Next release of My Telly supports EXACT title matching with double quotes (e.g. "Crash").

    > Use 2 single quotes for single quote in program search field. ???

If one wants to search for a title w/a single quote in it, e.g. Grey's Anatomy, use 2 single quotes: Grey''s Anatomy.

Hate to ask, but any idea when the next version (with exact title match) will be out?

"Dropdown cat = Movie, no search text & First Occurance checked will return all unique showings of movies."

This works ok, but why does it return zero results when I enter any number in the channel field? Does it have the capability to output a list of movies on a particular channel or group of channels?

The channel substring search field is for the call letters of stations... That's why putting "HD" in it hits all my HD stations (e.g. NBCHD, CBSHD, etc.).

Oh - and planning to get this new version out in the next couple/few weeks.... The work is about 1/2 done for it now & finishing depends on my spare time.

It will have the features I posted elsewhere incl. the nicer way to edit Advanced Search text (ala current Favorites list editing).

Anything new regarding the upgrade of favorites search etc? Thanks!

Incidentally, if the program will allow for exact matches using quote marks, here's a great site to easily add the quote marks to a list of titles -
