Hello Rob,
I always have cloudy sky but I can't undertand why.
Now the sky is totally clear but the SQM say cloudy
I am attaching the screen of the webpage and the cloud cover configuration.
Thank you!
Well it is like this
mySQMPRO implemented a simple sky clear, sky cloudy , known as sky state. We couldnt do much more because space was a premium and meant something had to go to do it better.
Then along came the mySQM+ and I decided to fully implement a sky cloud model based on others efforts.
This gave a cloud sky percentage etc. A proper model.
But, some yearned for the simple model of "sky state" that was in mySQMPRO
So that got added.
I could not use the same variables etc, so each was implemented seperately from each other.
So you have sky state, a simple model, using its own methof of calculation, having two setpoints to adjust the model
AND
the full sky model
The thing is this - they are not the same, are calculated differently and mean different things.
You will have to configure the sky cloud model as outlined in the pdf to get the results you seek.
So yes, I would be surprised if the two different methods produced the same result.
The sky cloud model requires a lot of config and trial and error to set up correctly, There is a lot of info in the PDF about how to set it up, and the note that also said it will probably require tweaks for each season.
We cannot compare apples with oranges (though they might both be "fruit") so time for a decision, ignore sky state or ignore the sky cloud model and cloud percentage value
Cheers
Robert
