    OK, dumb question time...
On page 213 of the documentation, there are photos of the La Crosse enclosure dismantled to allow installation of the PCB and sensors. Several of the cover rings have been removed and the two plastic posts they stack onto are sticking out.
I couldn't get the La Crosse enclosure and bought this instead:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/TFA-Dostmann-98-1114-02-Sensor-White-10-2/dp/B017ILZF6C/ref=dp_prsubs_1?pd_rd_i=B017ILZF6C&psc=1
Of course, there is no guarantee it's exactly the same, but based on the photos of the La Crosse, it looks identical apart from the name printed on the top.
Inside I can see the plastic posts that hold everything together, but I can't remove the end caps that stop it coming apart. I have tried levering them, pulling them and turning them without success so far.
I could cut the ends off, but then how do I make it hold together afterwards?
So before I apply excessive brute force and break something - how do you dismantle it?
    Thanks for any advice!

    how do you dismantle it?
No idea. I will ask those that used the La Crosse enclosure.

I got this reply from Paul
I just cut off the blobs on the end, then removed as much rings as needed to adjust it to the desired height, trimmed the legs and put a small woodscrew in it (and a washer). The legs are hollow, so only cuttting needed, no drilling.
