When in field, nomad, , sometimes network is not available and then the sync of time/date with NTP server is not possible. Would it be feasible to have the RTC sync with the GPS ? The idea is not to have a millisecond precision but something good enough to correct the RTC drift which can be large sometime (or simply get the time/fdate on a portable , not battery backuped, station)
As well, an evolution (but may be the code will took too much space) can be to use this station as a "basic" NTP server for the computer, control software., planetarium, çinstead of being a ntp client ? Again not a stratum I server, but something good enough for nomad astronomy.
Just some ideas to share
i didn't looked at the code to see if the first idea is easy to implement. tempus fugit..

The new firmware and apps uploaded TODAY my time will let you sync to GPS
The RTC shift using the DS3231 module is very small. One is talking a few seconds a week.
The code supports the Local Date Time Source option
Just a matter of setting the source to GPS.
