I have mysql server on remote machine. Mysql is set up to listen only on localhost, since the webserver is on that machine too. When I want to administer mysql i create ssh connection to the server using -L option for port-forwarding. (ssh -L 63306:localhost:3306). When using mysql commandline client i connect to server 'localhost' on port '3306' and everything is ok. But when I tell the same mysql-navigator, it produces an error:
Can't connect to local MYSQL server trought socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'.
These are the startup parametars:
mario@mike:~$ mysql-navigator -h localhost -u root -p pass123 -d db123 -P 63306
