#130 MySQLdb on WinXP Pro crashes on connect(read_default_file)

platform: Windows XP Professional
Python versions :
1. Python 2.4 (#60, Nov 30 2004, 11:49:19) [MSC v.1310
32 bit (Intel)]
on win32
2. Python 2.3.4 (#53, May 25 2004, 21:17:02) [MSC
v.1200 32 bit (Intel)]
on win32
python.exe crashes when i try connecting with the
database using the read_default_file, here is the code:

import MySQLdb
db = MySQLdb.connect(read_default_file='client.ini')

Thats it. python.exe crashes.

    Are you building your own version of MySQLdb, or are you
    using the SourceForge package? I will guess that you are
    building your own, since you have tested on Python-2.3.4 and
    there is currently only a 2.4 package.

    What's your MySQL version, if you bulit your own? Where did
    you get your MySQL from?

    Does MySQLdb.connect() crash if you don't use read_default_file?
