This is an intermittent problem. I *think* it happens less often if I restart the phone after every upload, but still sometimes happens. When uploading, sometimes the countdown goes crazy, never says "finished" even after hours.
Comparing the number of cells/APs shown as detected with the data files stored shows that data is getting lost. Some of the data is usually stored in the the "processed" folders, both cellular and wifi, however it is incomplete and falls short of the number listed in the main screen, though sometimes there is no data at all for one or both types. The wifi and cellular folders not within the ProcessedFiles folder are empty when this has happened.
I find this happens even when openBmap has been running in the foreground with the screen on for the entire duration of the run.
I am running version 0.4.999. I have been running WigleWifi in the background whenever I run openBmap, but I would be surprised if this is the cause.
Additional info. In one case, the screen said 27 serving cells, 863 wifi APs, before upload. The files in the processed folders contained 9 different serving cells, and 325 unique bssids.
Should have mentioned, this is on an HTC Desire HD.
Have confirmed the problem also occurs when not running WigleWifi in the background.
I can confirm this behavior as well. In my case, if I try to upload directly after stopping to track, it doesn't upload anything.
(By the way, I've also had cases of the app crashing in the background, thus stopping the track, and then not uploading any data from before the crash. But I guess this should be another bug report...)
