Do you have support for mysql under php?

    Try: rpm -qa |grep mysql

If everything required is installed, you should see the
    following as a result:

    [mir@thor mir]$ rpm -qa |grep mysql
    mysql-server-3.23.56-1.9
    mysql-3.23.56-1.9
    php-mysql-4.2.2-17

    mysql-server-3.23.56-1.9 # the mysql server
mysql-3.23.56-1.9 # the mysql client stuff
    php-mysql-4.2.2-17 # the mysql add-ons for php

Appears to be an issue with MySQL not built into PHP. In
version 0.8.0 this was changed to mysql_connect() to prevent
    problems with persistant connections.
