Original submit by: glore2002 "When setting options, I can't set CD-Reader device. When trying to change it, it says "no such file or directory" So, when trying to rip cd into mp3 it displays a long message that says many things but what I can register is "...no such file or directory" again. The message last 1 or 2 seconds. That's why I can't copy an paste it. The problem,I guess, has to be with CD-Reader device settings. Is there a way to configure this manually?" First download the patch: https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/download.php?group_id=184357&atid=908932&file_id=306467&aid=2460712 Later, you can easily to patch the file configure.sh: $ cd /usr/share/mybashburn $ patch -p0 < configure.sh.patch Once you have applied the patch just run: $ mybashburn Enjoy. -- Wilmer Jaramillo M., Fedora Project yum isn't useful for geeks, is just for lazy people irc.freenode.net: k0k @ #fedora-ve, #talug GPG Key Fingerprint = 0666 D0D3 24CE 8935 9C24 BBF1 87DD BEA2 A4B2 1E8A |

Comment the line 156 of file /usr/share/mybashburn/misc/commonfunctions.sh # printf -v LINE " %-${SIZE}s %-23s " "${message:0:$SIZE}" "${BBVERSION}" I don't has adapted completely MyBashBurn to work correctly with RHEL/CentOS, probably even have output errors. I'll working in that compatibility very soon. Thank George for you bug report. -- Wilmer Jaramillo M. GPG Key Fingerprint = 0666 D0D3 24CE 8935 9C24 BBF1 87DD BEA2 A4B2 1E8A |

So a main spirit of bashburn would be damaged, because we read on the sourceforge homepage: BashBurn is a couple of shellscripts written to make cd burning in the console easier, without the need for a lot of libraries like gtk or qt for a pretty GUI. The reason why I have found to bashburn was THIS REASON! I had problems of running a graphical burning-programm. " And exactly the main target during creating of mybashburn was giving support for a new graphical User Interface, at that time was a probe (unstable) of concept for to integrate the classic UI with the propose interface UI dialog and switch it according, the other reason for creating it was similar opinions as the quote on bashburn list. Through out this month of development of mybashburn, these were some of the mainly targets: - Easy user interface. - Autodetection of devices, full options, clear outputs for reduction of errors because of old structure. - Good documentation. Later I not believe to maintain the old 'Classic' user interface, neverthless, the core of bashburn still is used by mybashburn. > * I think the great new user-interface is a chance for the old "core" > bashburn to get also cleaner code and better integrated translations. Bashburn is a stable and mature codebase with more uselful options and provides perhaps functions unavailable in other similiar projects, but I believe that the main problem for bashburn is the incapacity to guide to the user towards an optimal configuration easily, instead of to be incomprehensible and syntactically irritating, leaving place to suppositions in it process of configuration because to a very simple UI. > * We could split the user-interface code better from the burning-code. > So in my humble opinion practically it will be a good solution to work > at the moment on both projects parallel (as close as possible togther). > * Then we could - time after time - separate user-interface code from > burning-logic and make better structure of the user-interface things > (perhaps starting with the user-interface text's). It's a very hard work but possible and it _was_ the main intention of mybashburn. > * The final aim would be to UNITE the 2 flavours of bashburn again in > the near future and provide the user the choice to use the "text" or > "curses" (or any other) user-interface of bashburn per configuration (or > per autodetection - what is locally available). In some moment arrived at the which mybashburn and bashburn to be will entirely incompatible, I haven't the smaller doubt, the success of both projects depends entirely on the model of development of each one and which project it got to be more popular. Or we will have to study the technical possibility of to join both changing surely the old structure of bashburn. Greetings. -- Wilmer Jaramillo M.
