the path you suggest could be moreover the one used by default for CSS styles and so on, like suggested there : https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/?func=detail&aid=1712797&group_id=192807&atid=942885
I think we may we plan it for version 2.2.0 ?

Actually, this feature request is related to almost all mojos. The same request is imho applicable to the unit-test related directories (src/test/flex, src/test/resources, etc).
