The Stable Release Has Arrived! BOW BEFORE ITS AWSOME MIGHT!

I am proud to announce the release of Music Manager V.2, our first full feature, stable version of Music Manager.

What is different between Music Manager V2 and V1 you ask? Well, for starters, all the features are there! Another MAJOR change is the user interface; after having released V1 (revisions 0.0.X-0.5.X) into a testing environment we found that it was not conducive to actual use. So, we talked with our compatriots down in the orchestra department to find out what actually did work, what did not, what they wanted to see added and what they wanted to see removed... we took all of those ideas and built Music Manager v2 around them! Some major improvements were also made to the backend, especially in the flat-file "database" method we were using (Though loading might take a bit longer, the data’s management is actually more efficient and less likely to cause errors). Also, we “idiot” proofed the system. All errors are now caught and displayed to the user and an easy to use screen that allows them, you, to copy the entire stack trace and email it to us … me, at which point our crack team of monkeys.. me.. will get on it and hopefully have the bug fixed within.. uh.. our life times. However, most errors are self correcting! For instance! Say someone decides to be clever and goes and messes around with the database file and screws something up? While it’s not recommended that you do something like that, or even allow access to those files to users, the program is designed to attempt to correct any and all detected problems. I know, I know… it can’t self-repair like those nifty, evil space stations in Sci Fi movies, but at the very least you shouldn’t ever be plagued with nightmares about corrupted data files!

At the moment the system is being used, and in the process tested, by the orchestra department teachers... the students are shouting "apocalypse, apocalypse" as they watch the once untidy file cabinets sorted and digitally cataloged for the first time since the dawn of time itself.

Please, head on down to the download page and get yerself a copy of Music Manager V2 today! If you have any suggestions, ANY AT ALL, please send them to us. We are at an impasse as to what needs to still be added and what still needs to be changed... we don't know much about the sorting and cataloging of Music so we need your help with this people!
