The script to merge the SndKit code into the MusicKit source tree is
running and I'm about to inform sourceforge to do the replacement, once
I know the cvstarball has generated an up to date copy of the
repository (given my commits this morning). If something goes wrong, at
least I have the old cvstarball if we need to backtrack... :^P
For developers and users it should be fairly transparent. If you are
working direct from the repository version, you will need to
re-checkout the new repository. If you have patched code, you will need
to copy those files back into the newly checkout tree, or
alternatively, send me the changes and I will commit them if you lack
developer access. Please do that soon. If you are working from a
standard downloaded version (i.e 5.4.3), continue to use that
distribution until the next one appears.
In the new version you will find that there is then only one source
download, although the SndKit will continue to link without needing to
link to the MusicKit (only to the lowlevel MKPerformSndMIDI performance
library). We may consolidate to a single version number, perhaps 5.4.4,
perhaps 5.5.0, to describe both SndKit and MusicKit, a decision hasn't
been made, feedback is welcome.
I will post out another announcement and post to the news site when the
repository changes have gone through. It usually takes sourceforge
about 2 business days to turn over the request, so expect no commits in
the next couple of days.
Productive development to all!
