I have noticed that if I run a game in DX9 mode I have the overlay, but if I change to DX11 mode I loose the overlay.
Request support for DX11 overlay.

DX11 support is on the list for sometime after 1.2.3.

Just a note to say that I would value this as well.

this is by far and away my #1 need for mumble. if dx11 support is available in a snapshot, it should be linked to here.

I also support the idea. It would be nice to see the overlay in BF3.

Is this still in the works?

I'll throw in my .02 on this one -- the Overlay has been one of Mumble's best features for a while now, and it has been amazing. Unfortunately, since most games nowadays are DX11, it's gone from "amazing" to "mostly useless"; please consider this feature request!

We are aware of this highly requested feature and its importance, and have been.

We have a working pull request, but can not merge it into our source tree because of licensing issues / uncertainties of Microsofts DX SDK samples.

We will have to rewrite some parts of it before we can merge it. Unfortunately, this also requires some technical research, work and time. That’s why it’s not here yet, and will not be for 1.2.4. We definitely want it to be in 1.2.5 though! We’ll see about that.

Sorry for bumping this, but what's the situation with DirectX 9ex? Does the implementation (if there is one) have the same legal issues as the DX11 one?

No, there are no legal issues with Direct3D 9 Ex.
I have working code for 9Ex.

Currently working on rebasing it onto the current code-base to commit it.

The lack of this feature makes Mumble a non-option where it was and should be a top choice. Please hurry this serious upgrade need.
