#1008 Reciever side fake positional

Currently Positional Audio only works if the sender has positional audio info sent.

I would like to see a feature that allows you to position all people in the room automatically client side when you're playing a game with no positional audio it feels like someone is talking in side your head with headphones on, and quite irritating. and asking people in your room to turn on the manual placement plugin or fix the other various problems they have with their mic is too much effort when I should be able to do it myself.

IMO, that's a good idea. The question, however, is how that should be implemented, and it would surely take some user settings too, e.g., spread, minimum and maximum distance.

I'm not really sure what kind of unique and persistent ID the clients see of each other, but my proposal would be to calculate positions based on that, so users would always get a fixed position in the virtual room. Fanning people out in something like a 120° sector in front of the local user would be a start.

a fan-spread sounds like a good idea. mostly this will be for games with no plugin or just general chatting when no one has a game open, manual plugin only works if everyone else is using it (non linked users sound far louder, so it's easier to just turn it off to normalize levels), so this could fix most of these situations.

Pretty much sounds like a duplicate of [#643].
