When I try to download mumble this comes up, it says, "The following
applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup. You can
let Setup Wizard close them and attempt to restart them or reboot the machine
later." If I finish the download is there any chance of this harming my
display or anything...and also what does it mean, and what should I do?
It is the "HP on screen display"
This is because the Mumble overlay has been injected into the application (due
to it using D3D 9 or 10), so it needs to be restarted for the new overlay
version to tacke effect. There should normally not be a negative impact, at
worst the tool may be inoperative until you reboot the system.
That is on installation though, not on downloading Mumble.
If you don’t want to stop the program - as the installer suggests - you can choose to not close the program and instead restart the system after Mumble installation.
No, neither of the options will harm your computer.
Worst case, something will fail until you restart it.
