I would like to use Mumble on Debian VDS (as I know XEN based is better?).
How much server resources do I need to have so it will hold 500/1000 users
without any problem?
Thank you in advance!
I am using now Ubuntu 11.04 32bit amd 2Ghz with 768Mhz SDRAM memory 60Gb HDD
and its running 2 Mumble servers with capacity of 100 on both but active usage
is max 10 on both at time and no problems.
And server is running Apache2 + just made Jukebox to stream musick to mumble
and it starts to beat limit pretty close now.
My ISP speed is Fiber 100/10Mb.
So if you vanna run 500 users i think the hardware dont need to be mutch but
you need pretty high NetSpeed to keep it up.
Average usage per user at my server is ~15Kbps and 10 users takse ~150Kb/s of
my Upstream bandwith.
And bandwith depends of settings ofc (Lower settings=Lower quality), my
settings isin't high.
