The bug is as follows:

  1. Turn on Team Frotress 2.
  2. Verify that sound is coming from headphones.
  3. Turn on Mumble.
  4. Sound from Mumble coming through headphones. However, sound from Team Fortress 2 is now coming from speakers.

This does not happen with TF2 for other sound-based apps - like Media Monkey, nor similar apps like Google Talk or Skype.

It does also happen for other steam games - like Left 4 Dead 2.

I am running windows 7 on an hp touchsmart tm2. The sound controllers are:
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

Continued - this not only happens with TF2, but also with youtube videos, and all other sounds it seems.

I found a comment concerning exclusive mode. I made sure that it was disabled.

Are you disabling exclusive mode on input and output (though I think output is the one that matters in this case)?

Sorry for the long inactivity on this bug ticket.
Is this still an issue for you on Mumble 1.2.4?
I would guess it is a feature of your audio driver!? Do you use an audio driver that may provide more than basic output logic?
If you still have this issue and want to come back to us, please create a new ticket in our new bug tracker (we moved).
