#826 Overlay not working (World of Warcraft 4.2)

Mumble (544)

I've just installed Mumble and enabled the overlay option, but even if I double-checked WoW is running in DX9, I still see no overlay. I've tried moving it around in the configuration window, tried to enable/disable the FPS counter too, no way.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit, WoW 4.2 is running as 32bit application.

Can you post a dxdiag output?

I can't reproduce this - just downloaded WoW "starter" or whatever (the free one), version and the overlay came up immediately. It defaulted to DX9, apparently supports DX11.

I have a Radeon HD5770 - not sure if perhaps later cards do what TF2 does... on TF2 if you set -dxlevel 81 or whatever, it simply doesn't use the DX9 calls - but it's still running as DX9 (otherwise the overlay wouldn't work there). Of course I know extremely little about the overlay, but I'm wondering if it's running on your card as DX10 or DX11, but "only using the DX9 stuff" without actually being in DX9.

Other than that, I really don't know... as I said I couldn't reproduce it.

Almost identical setup but running under x64 Windows 7 and WoW running as x64.

I felt I should also add that I'm running the dev snapshot and on a multi-gpu, multi-monitor setup. dxdiag output would have said as much but I'll save someone the time by saying as much here.

I tested it with the other monitors disabled and with mumble running with UAC admin.

Shame I can't edit comments to add stuff as it comes to me. :P

I/We have no way to test this.
Please try a current snapshot, if it is still an issue for you - we recently changed some Overlay stuff.
If it still is an issue, please do create a new ticket in our new bug tracker.
