I use the MERGE and COMPRESS functions of the multivalent tool, but sometimes I'd like to rotate single pages before I combine them to a bundle.
Is there something existing or could this be integrated in future.
The Impose tool can rotate pages.
Thanks for the hint, but I could get Impose to rotate a single page. It always wants to shrink 2 or more pages to one page. And then you can select single pages to be rotated on that combined layout. But this is not what I need.
Another thing is that the -page option only accepts information about the size but not about the orientation.
Impose can do it but it is awkward.
An alternative is to use the Uncompress tool to get an editable version which is labelled by page. Then load it up in a text editor that can handle binary data, search for "% page 2", add a "/Rotate 90" (or 180 or 270) alongside the other keys for that object. Then use Compress to recompute the object crossreferences and shrink the file.
My generator puts a "Rotate 0" statement for every page. So I can replace all of them in one run.
Maybe I will pack this into a script.
