When Word 2007 creates a PDF document, Multivalent cannot merge them if PDF/A compliance (ISO 19005-a) is not set.
The documents open fine in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The error message is:

Perhaps Word 2007 PDFs don't match the PDF specification. If you post or email such a PDF, I can try to diagnose the problem.
