Latest Info

There is a survey available now that should help us get a better idea of what people are using mrtgconfig for and what features they want, so please fill it out. Also, version 0.6 is right around the corner so if you find any bugs, let us know. After that, we'll be working towards migrating to rrdtool and implimenting a much more flexible sytem of tracking things. This means you'll probably need a database for future versions to do anything useful, but that's the proce of progress :)

Next Version of MRTGconfig

The next version of MRTGconfig will be integrated with a database backend. I'm currently using Postgresql but it should be trivial to use MySQL as well. If anyone would like to assist with this, please contact me. I think you'll like the next version....

Upcoming 0.4 release

We're now moving towards a 0.4 release which should offer much easier installation as well as well as make it easier to upgrade. The configuration has been moved to a seperate file so you should be able to drop in a new version of mrtg.cgi without having to change anything. A new installer will minimally configure and install the system which should make it much easier for everyone to get up and running. Please hunt down bugs now as the 0.4 release will be made sometime during the next week and these new features need a bit of testing yet.

Project Status

Baring any hidden bugs I haven't ferreted out, this release should be solid for some time. I'll be playing with databases for some time so figure out what you like and don't like about the script and let me know. Eventually I'll be adding database support to it but not untill I've had a bit more experience with them myself. Anyone with more devices and oids for them, please let me know because the supported device section is pretty small right now. That's all.

First user oriented release available

As of version 0.03, INSTALL and README files are provided and the script has been cleaned up for use on computers other than our own. Now is a good time to try it out and see if it works for you. The next release will focus on offering the user more custumization options.

First Release and call for assistance

This is the first release of the mrtg configuration script. Just drop it in your cgi-bin dictory and edit the lines at the top and you should be ready. The big area I'm looking for help in is the addition of more oids for more devices and detecting them. Contact me if you have any questions.
