To whom it may concern, I have been using the mrt suite, specifically route_btoa, as a tool to aid in data analysis for my current research. One of the problems I ended up having with it is that in machine-readable output mode (-m), packet boundaries are not preserved. I hacked together a 2-line patch to the source to fix this problem. I'm not sure what interest there is in this particular feature, or whether or not this software is still actively developed/used, but if anyone is interested, I would be happy to contribute this small modification. Thank You, Kyle Brogle Computer Science Department Boston University |

MRT is under a BSD license. I'm no license expert, but I would guess it is best to add a README.OSX (or similar) to indicate where to get the msg.h file, and which (10.3.4?) OSX version it was tested under. Florent |

For the most part I can't see why not. I'll test it on linux when I get back ot the office (Monday, I'm at a networking workshop at the moment). The only small problem I see is that Mac OS X doesn't have /usr/include/sys/msg.h, I had to include that from the Darwin kernel sources I happened to have kicking about. The obvious solution is to include that with mrtd, but that has an Apple Public Source License on it. An alternative would be to see if a minimal msg.h alternative could be produced. Yet another alternative would be to just point people (I guess I'm assuming mrt users tend to be bright :) at the darwin CVS repository and request people grab msg.h before trying to build mrtd. Thoughts? Cheers, -- Michael > > Hi Michael, > > Can we commit the changes without affecting the other platforms? Hi Michael, Can we commit the changes without affecting the other platforms? If so, then we should go ahead an commit that. Hi there, I had to fiddle a bit to get mrt to compile on Mac OS X, updating the config.[sub|guess], adding msg.h, changing a def for SNPRINTF. Seems to be working okay for basic usage. Is anyone interested in these changes? - Michael |
