Good morning,

I am having a problem login in to my mrbs installation it is a fresh installation with sample data installed. I have changed the auth type to db and clicked user list to create my admin login.

After creating the admin login I try to login with the same credential I have just submitted and get the following message: You do not have the necessary rights to view this page.

Can someone help?

    Is it showing your username in the top right hand corner, even though it's saying you do not have rights?

    Hi Campbell,

    No it does not show the username, it is showing unknown user and the login button.

    Can you try setting

    $auth["session"] = "cookie";

    in your config file and see if you still have the problem?

    OK. The reason it didn't work before is because there's some problem with the way PHP sessions are set up on your system. This isn't an MRBS problem, but a server configuration problem. It would be as well to get this fixed in case it affects other applications. It's quite likely that there's a problem with your session configuration in php.ini. One common problem is that the server directory that is configured to hold the session data does not have the correct permissions and is not writable.
