I don't know of an Errors/Exceptions area page or section. Rather under each function in the manual is a subheading for Errors/Exceptions. Here's how I found the info: * The error log said index.php line 15. There's only one function on line 15 - date(). * Looked up date() on php.net. * Found the heading Errors/Exceptions that had info that matched the line in the error log. But there is a lot to PHP so don't worry, it'll all come in time. I commented that out in the config.inc.php file and the error no longer occurs. I would like to be reassured that this will not negatively impact the functioning of our MRBS install. > > When I run a "phpinfo(INFO_CONFIGURATION);" in a web browser it shows: > > magic_quotes_gpc Off Off > magic_quotes_runtime Off Off > magic_quotes_sybase Off Off > > As I said I'm new to PHP programming. I assume that this means that magic quotes are off by default. This would make the line "set_magic_quotes_runtime(0);" redundant. I'm not sure why this causes an error message, though. > > The other issue I'm seeing under PHP 5.30 is the timezone setting seems to be in conflict with some date.time functions. This one is more difficult to fix. I've tried setting this to "America/New_York" which the error message states PHP selects and the message still occurs. Originally, I had $timezone = "America/Detroit"; -- < Definitely a recognized timezone - I checked. > > Is this again some new problem related to our upgrade to PHP 5.30? I don't see this in logs previous to the upgrade so I am assuming this is a new issue. Is there another inc file that needs to be modified to fix this problem? I'm not quite sure where to look. > > Neither of these issues have been show stoppers so our users are unaware of the problems. However, being OCD I want to get this as close to perfection as possible. I've attached (hope that's not a no-no) a snippet of the error.log file to this message so you can see what the errors look like. > > I appreciate any suggestions, ideas or hints of where to look next. > > Sincerely, > > Joy Denton > > > Desktop Support Specialist > University of Michigan > Science Learning Center > 930 N.
