I have it set to "ext" temporarily until I can get ldap working otherwise no user can login at all. =20 I need to connect to LDAP using an administrative id & password then search for user name & password in LDAP. This way is slower but it lets you validate people who are in LDAP and do not have bind access to LDAP. I have it set up this way for another system. What is the syntax to allow the ldap server to do this in the config file? Rose Taylor, BSc. One of "none" This line means you're not using LDAP authentication at all, and instead using 'ext' authentication, without specifying what external script is doing the authentication! I can't help you understand your LDAP setup - it can be very individual to your organisation. I admit that a particularly different LDAP configuration may be too different for MRBS's current LDAP code to handle.
