Hello,
in our public hospital we take photos of the employees for the ID badge. This photos must alway have the same width to height ratio and possibly the same size. One of the following extensions to MP View would easy the work very much. Here in order of easement:
1) The user can select the position of the eyes by clicking first on one eye then on the other. According to parameters set in the configuration MP View automatically selects a area for croping. It should be possible to change the selection manually but possibly only with the same ratio.
2) Icon for fixed size selection. In the configuration a fixed size selection is set. When the user clicks the icon for fixed size selection it can move the selection area over the picture, but not change its size
3) Select from a central point and not the corner with a fixed width to height ratio. The user clicks the central point of the area to select and the enlarges this area. The ratio has to remain constant
It would be nice if one of this could be implemented.
Thank you very much

I think implementing selection from central point would be OK, but for fixed size selection? Where would you select the size?
I plan to improve the selection a bit (by allowing to resize the boundaries once they are drawn for example and by improving few other things), so I can take your suggestions into account.
the "select some area cccording to eyes position" is too specialized task to be in the core, but perhaps I can do it so it could be implementable as some sort of plugin.

Hello,
thank you for your answer.
Photoshop elements has a fixed size selection.
On the toolbar you can insert the horizontal and vertical sizes and when you choose the "selection tool" a area of thi size is selected. You can then move this area around to find the right position.
I agree that the eyes selection is very specialized but it would be nice to see it implemented as a plugin.
Thanks
Andreas
