Mothers Against Drunk Driving Picks Orange Leap for Optimizi

DALLAS, TEXAS (March 2, 2009) – Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) – one of the leading U.S. advocacy groups, with more than two million members and supporters and 400 entities – has picked Orange Leap (formerly known as MPower) as its platform for managing and optimizing constituent relationships, marketing and fundraising across the entire organization.

Orange Leap provides bold, highly innovative and easy-to-use software that strengthens relationships with constituents and other nonprofits. Used by organizations around the world, including some of the most sophisticated direct marketers, Orange Leap is a mature, full feature, open source constituent management solution specifically designed for nonprofits. It is available without licensing fees and gives users access to the source code so they can modify the software, develop new features and functionality, integrate with their other mission-critical solutions, and have a single platform for running their organizations.

Like so many nonprofits, MADD has been operating with numerous databases for capturing and leveraging information about constituents. By moving to a single solution via Orange Leap, MADD will obtain a more holistic view of its constituents and can more easily communicate relevant information to each supporter.

With the Orange Leap system, MADD can consolidate data and eliminate some data entry, which is time consuming, prone to error and diverts employees from focusing on more strategic tasks.

“Orange Leap will be our master constituent management system, not only housing master data but also functioning like a ‘traffic cop,’ automatically moving data among the systems based on our needs,” said Nick Ellinger, Vice President of Strategic Outreach for MADD. “Every nonprofit needs that for effective segmenting, targeting and marketing to optimize constituent engagement, participation and fundraising.”

Ellinger continued by saying, “We chose Orange Leap over other solutions because its feature set is second to none, especially for the price. Also, it’s infinitely extensible – as we grow and our needs change, we can develop new features and incorporate those developed by other members of the Orange Leap user community in real time and as we need them. ”

MADD is the one of the latest nonprofits selecting Orange Leap over competitive constituent management solutions. Nonprofits switch to Orange Leap in order to have the full flexibility and control over their technology that only open source software provides.

“We are thrilled to have MADD on board as a new user – the organization is an example of a nonprofit that wants a better constituent management solution, more value and the flexibility of an open source solution. MADD is a role model for so many groups in this regard,” said Randy McCabe, Founder and CEO of Orange Leap. “With our product strength, delivery model, support and true open source platform, nonprofits quickly understand that moving to Orange Leap is the smartest and safest thing they can do for themselves.”
