It depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to manually create
LSPs then all you will need is a MPLS enabled kernel, mplsadm2, MPLS
enabled 'iproute2' or MPLS enabled 'iptables'. If you want to dynamically
create LSPs via LDP then you need all of the above _and_ a MPLS enabled
zebra.
If you are having difficulty compiling and installing a new kernel
I suggest looking at you distributions documentation about compiling
your own kenel, or read the Linux kernel howto:
