[mpls-linux-general] Why MPLSCP is required at all ?

Hi,
 I have a question regarding MPLS over PPP.
What is the expected function of MPLSCP ?
Since as per RFC 3032 that is to be sent after
NCP then once Network layer negotiations
are complete, what will MPLSCP do ?
 
 If  this  is not proper alias for this Q, can you guide 
me ?

PPP assumes that no protocol packets can flow until a NCP for that
protocol has registered and syncronized with the peer.  In the case of IPv4
IPCP can negotiate many things (IP addresses, DNS servers ....).  In the
case of MPLS nothing needs to be negotiated, the only purpose for MPLSCP is
to identify that MPLS packet can be sent on this link.

[mpls-linux-general] Need your help

Hi ,
  I am new to this linux networking  field . I have background
of networking basics .

   I was going through the MPLS code at sourceforge. I am not able to
undersand the way of interfacing to "IP" and ethernet.

I am looking for some help where I can get some info how layers
are hooked with each other.  And how to put our hook of new protocol
in  those like done here in MPLS code??

 I know this is not possible for you busy experts  to teach me all but I
will
be thankfull if you can give any guideline and help.

  Any URL where I may get some help ?
