You probably did not 'mount' the sys file system. Add this to your /etc/fstab: none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0 Make sure you have created the directory /sys, then as root do: mount /sys BTW this is not a mpls-linux related problem, sysfs is new in 2.6.x and you should have learned that when you read up on switching to a 2.6.x kernel ;-) On Tue, Oct 12, 2004 at 02:58:53PM +0300, yasir hameed wrote: > Hello, > > I tried the command > > echo 0 > /sys/mpls/debug > > but the file did not exist, so I created it and then did the same to no > avail. Hi, all
I've got such configuration:
10.0.0.2 10.0.0.1 10.1.0.1 10.1.0.2
ETH0 ETH0 ETH1 ETH0
|LER A|------------|LSR B|------------|LER C|
... and I want to send some specific traffic via MPLS path and the other via
basic IP.
i.e. streaming audio (running on particular port) is beeing sent via MPLS/IP
and the other via IP
So the question is:
Can I set MPLS path only for the particular port (or maybe it is possible
via tunnel config.)

Hi James
I will run mplsadm-1.935 and change according this text ;(mpls linux how
to)
{
Change directory to mpls-linux/utils/ then check the following
environment variables: CC, CFLAGS , in your makefile (i.e.
/usr/src/mpls-linux/utils/Makefile ).
Usually you should do fine with the default values, but it's ok to
check
anyway. If you're not satisfied :) edit and modify as necessary.
You can modify the Makefile in your mpls-linux/utils/ directory
to look like this :
--snip--
CC=gcc
CFLAGS = -O2 -Wall
#-g -Wall
#
all: mplsadm
strip ./mplsadm
#
#
mplsadm: netlink.o mplsadm.o
gcc -O2 -static -o $@ $^
#old: gcc -g -static -o $@ $^
clean:
rm -rf *.o mplsadm
#
--snip--
}
and Add the following lines to my /etc/profile :
--snip--
export MPLSHOME=/usr/src/mpls-linux
export PATH=$PATH:$MPLSHOME/scripts:$MPLSHOME/utils
--snip--
but when I use ./make in the /mpls-linux/utils this error is sent
Makefile:6: *** missing separator (did you mean TAB instead of 8 spaces?).
Stop
.
and I need kernel-2.6.6 for suse.
please help me.
best regards.

Hello, When I send any traffic over the mpls network I see mpls skb dump messages on the screen. Does it effect the routing efficiency of the router, if so how can I turn it off. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail |

That is ok. I would prefer you contact me via the mailing list, but that
is just so that others can see what you're working on.
(I've CC'ed the lists)
I plan on creating a development tree which will contain the latest MPLS, VRF,
and L2CC code. I will probably be releasing this as a seperate RPM and
patch.
I the mean time, change mpls4_nexthop_resolve() to look like this:
static int mpls4_nexthop_resolve(struct neighbour **np, struct sockaddr *sock_addr, int oif)
{
struct sockaddr_in *addr = (struct sockaddr_in *) sock_addr;
u32 saddr = addr->sin_addr.s_addr;
struct flowi fl = { .oif = oif,
.nl_u = { .ip4_u = { .daddr = saddr } } };
struct rtable *rp;
unsigned char vrf = 0;
int err;
if (addr->sin_family != AF_INET)
return -EINVAL;
if ((dev = dev_get_by_index(oif)))
vrf = dev->vrf;
if (inet_addr_type(vrf, saddr) != RTN_UNICAST)
return -EINVAL;
fl.vrf = vrf;
err = __ip_route_output_key(&rp, &fl);
if (err)
return err;
/* If routing cache stops to automatically bind output routes
* to ARP cache, we will have to make arp_bind_neighbour() ourselves.
*/
if (!rp->u.dst.neighbour)
BUG();
*np = neigh_clone(rp->u.dst.neighbour);
ip_rt_put(rp);
return err;
}
Even with the above hack, you will lack the ability to map traffic from an
LSP into a VRF. For that you will need to implement an 'instruction'. Look
in linux/net/mpls/mpls_opcode.c for examples. The new instruction will
need to set the 'vrf' field on a skb.
