Hi Jim and all, I encountered the following problem. I have 2 output labels: ./mplsadm2 -A -O gen:16:eth0:ipv4:192.168.100.1 ./mplsadm2 -A -O gen:17:eth0:ipv4:192.168.100.1 (supose the 2 keys are 0x2 and 0x3) Firs I bind label 16 to a FEC: iptables -A OTPUT -d ip_dst_1 -j MPLS --set-key 0x2 Then if I want to unbind and I flush the rules : iptables -F The packets will continue to use the binding. Even if I create another binding like iptables -A OTPUT -d ip_dst_2 -j MPLS --set-key 0x3 the packets will still use the first label.... The only way I could delete the binding was by deleting the output label 16. Is there any other way to unbind the labels ??? Thanks in advance, Radu |

Hi James et all, Have you made some progress in the zebra/ldp implementation? I've done some test by myself. I've modified ldp-linux and ldp-zebra so that they can work with the new (old¿?:) ioctl interface to mpls 1.128, and with iptables to bind the fecs to the labels. When a ldp_zebra daemon establish a session with another ldp_zebra, there isn't exchange of labels but if the session is established between a ldp_linux and a ldp_zebra all seems to work ok. Have you got any clue about waths happening? My programming skills aren't good enough to look at the code and understand these protocol issues. Is there any point in doing CR-LDP? I don't know of any SPs deploying CR-LDP, or having plans to do so. For better or worse RSVP-TE won that particular battle... Giles James R. Yes, in fact in a previsou in carnation of ldp-portable they were supported. As soon as I get a solid zebra/ldp implementation working I will then work to integrate work from someone else (if any exists) or do it myself. (Sorry for the problems with the mail) Hi! I'm Daniel and I'm making a network with some PCs with Linux-MPLS 0.996. First of all, sorry for my english.I have 6 PCs with Linux-MPLS working on them, the 6 PCs have similar hardware. I'm using 3com and Realtek ethernet cards, and I have no problems configuring them on Linux. Initially they are disabled and I activate them with ' ifconfig ', I have made the basic example with two hosts that is in the /mpls-linux-1.0/utils/ directory and I have no problems. But when I try to make a net with 3 hosts it doesn't work. The scenario is: ______ | 4 | |_____ | | 147.156.163.194 | | | | __ |____ 147.156.163.199 | 8 | |______| | 147.156.163.198 | | ___|___ 147.156.163.197 | 7 | |______| And the configuration is as follows: On 4: (ethernet card configuration) ifconfig eth0 147.156.163.194 netmask 255.255.252.0 up (mpls configuration) route add -host 147.156.163.199 gw 147.156.163.199 mplsadm -A -B -O gen:16:eth0:ipv4:147.156.163.199 -f 147.156.163.199/32 mplsadm -A -I gen:17:0 mplsadm -L eth0:0 On 7: (ethernet card configuration) ifconfig eth0 147.156.163.197 netmask 255.255.252.0 up (mpls configuration) route add -host 147.156.163.198 gw 147.156.163.198 mplsadm -A -B -O gen:18:eth0:ipv4:147.156.163.198 -f 147.156.163.198/32 mplsadm -A -I gen:17:0 mplsadm -L eth0:0 On 8: (ethernet card configuration) ifconfig eth0 147.156.163.198 netmask 255.255.252.0 up ifconfig eth1 147.156.163.199 netmask 255.255.252.0 up (mpls configuration) route add -host 147.156.163.194 gw 147.156.163.194 dev eth1 route add -host 147.156.163.197 gw 147.156.163.197 dev eth0 mplsadm -A -B -O gen:19:eth0:ipv4:147.156.163.197 -f 147.156.163.197/32 mplsadm -A -B -O gen:17:eth1:ipv4:147.156.163.194 -f 147.156.163.194/32 mplsadm -A -I gen:19:0 mplsadm -L eth0:0 mplsadm -L eth1:0 When I try to make ping between 4 and 8 or between 7 and 8 I have no problems, but when I try ping between 4 and 7 Linux hangs and I don't understand what is wrong with it, can someone help me? I have the PCs connected via cross-connect cables that are tested and works properly, on 4 I have a Realtek RTL 8139 (A) PCI Fast Ethernet card, on 7 and on 8 I have two ethernet cards, a Realtek one and a 3Com 3c905c Tornado card. On 7 I use the 3Com card and on 8 I use the 3Com to connect with 7 (that uses the same kind of card) and the Realtek to connect with 4 (that uses the same kind of card) Thanks in advance! Dani |

Did you copy your previous kernel config? If not, go back get your previous kernel config and make sure you configured the new kernel the same way. You might want to read the README at the top of the linux kernel tree to make sure you didn't miss anything (like 'make modules' or 'make modules_install') Jim On Thu, Mar 07, 2002 at 04:34:34AM -0800, Ram Shankar wrote: > hello all, > > i was trying to install mpls-linux in my linux box. i > could add the patch and compail properly. > But when i boot in the new kernel, my network card is > not working properly. hello all, i was trying to install mpls-linux in my linux box. i could add the patch and compail properly. But when i boot in the new kernel, my network card is not working properly. Neither it is getting activated at boot time, nor i am able to activate it manually. When i try to "modprobe" it gives the following error. #modprobe 8139too /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol skb_over_panic_Rc2a7040d /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol __netdev_watchdog_up_Rc95d732e /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol softnet_data_Rd13cca99 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol netif_rx_R7cb763cb /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol eth_type_trans_Rd6fa5810 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol __kfree_skb_R1b76aae6 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: unresolved symbol alloc_skb_Rb676d661 /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o: insmod 8139too failed This module was working fine before installing Linux-MPLS. Are you willing to do some developement? Currently ldp-portable is in need of work. My guess is that what ever your trying to do, it wan't beable to do it ... yet. It would probably only take a little bit of changes, but it will take a lot of work to know what those changes are :-) On Tue, Mar 05, 2002 at 04:16:38PM +0900, =C0=D3=C7=FC=C5=C3 wrote: > hi all. > i'm studying about mpls vpn. but i have many problem of ldp > what must i have for opertating ldp-portable? > must i install the mpls-liux and iptables? > otherwise can i operate the mpls with only the ldp-portable? You can compile and run ldp-portable with out an underlying MPLS layer. = The result will be that you will signal the setup of LSPs, but there will not be any way of forwarding traffic on those LSPs. > can any body help me? > kind regard. --=20 James R. hi,Jim I have read your program about ldp:ldp_portable carefully. And I tried to port the program to other os:vxworks.I have a question about the code: #ifdef __LDP_LINUX__ #include "ldp_list.h" #include "ldp_refcnt.h" #else #include <ldp/ldp_list.h> #include <ldp/ldp_refcnt.h> #endif What are your purpose to write this segment ?Why not write as follows: #include "ldp_list.h" #include "ldp_refcnt.h" all thanks! |
