Dear e77d I agree on what Miguel is suggesting you; as James wrote "before running you should learn how to walk". Would be a good start up for you to get a little bit more into Unix world. You can find many good books and tons of docs in the internet covering about almost every issue; maybe once you get fundamentals you would be less frustrated and things would work (at least the easiest ones) without too much effort.
