[mpls-linux-general] A problem

Hi all,
I want to compile mpls-linux and LDP-portabel and I 
get linux kernel 2.4.13 and I have applied the
mpls-linux patch.
Now I want to configure linux kernel to turn on MPLS,
but I dont underestand what is wrong?!!!
I ran : make menuconfig in linux directory,but there
is an error: 
No such file or directory 
make : *** no rule to make target
'arch/i386/Makefile'.stop.
