Make sure you actualy have some 'stuff' configured by looking at /proc/net/mpls_* In particular you will need an entry in mpls_fec that matched the destination you are trying to ping. You could also turn on MPLS kernel debugging by doing 'mplsadm -d' then look at your console or your /var/log/messages file OR do a 'dmesg' and you will see what the MPLS stack is doing. You might want to turn on this debugging even before configuring the LSPs. This way you can make sure they were created correctly.
