Hi list, First of all sorry for my English level, it's not my native language and I didn't practice for a long... I am a spanish scholar and I have to investigate the possibility to do a Lab for testing MPLS-TE with DiffServ aware in a Linux router environment. I am completely new on doing routing on linux. I had reading amount of manuals of MPLS and MPLS-TE and now I'm considering to embark on it. I am trying to follow this manual ( http://www.elcom.pub.ro/~adrian.popa/mpls-linux/mpls-linux-docs/index.html) in an Ubunut Gutsy 7.10 distribution and i had an error when recompile the kernel (I'm trying to fix it, investigating...) but in many other places I've read that the best distribution to investigate in mpls-linux is Fedora because it has a native repository for mpls. What do you think about it? In case that I need Fedora, wich version would you recommend: a newer or legacy? Also, in the former manual I havve noticed that I need 9 Pcs for testing; Do you think that its possible to virtualize in the same machine 9 pcs to do this exercises? (I am new in virtualitzation to:( ) Finally, since I've read, the state of art of MPLS-TE is very experimental, I didn't find any RSVP-TE daemon for signaling the protocol or other signaling protocol. Do you think that is very premature to do a LAB with mpls-te environment? I know that firstly I have to learn to work in mpls-linux in general and later investigate the possibility to do some TE aware but the question is for the future ;) As you can see I am very confused tin this world and every hint or advice that you can say is welcome :) Thank you very much for your time. |
